Strong Season Opening for Formula Europe
Three of the European Formula Factory Team riders were competing in the International Open Indoor in Kortrijk, Belgium. This 2 day BMX event was organised during the Velofolies Bicycle Fair.
Lucie Meerholz dominated the Girls 14 Category: she won both days without tolerating anyone in front of her.
In the Elite Men Edzus Treimanis and Kevin Sprengers looked like the men to beat. They were winning motos and won their semis on both Satuday and Sunday.
The Saturday Main a cracking sound just before the gate dropped messed up the 2 favorites start: Edzus finished in 5th and Kevin had to settle for 7th.
On Sunday’s Main, Kevin took the holeshot but in the first turn got run into and crashed. Edzus who was just behind him got hold up and was held back. Edzus finished in 6th, Kevin in 8th.
A few days later Kevin Sprengers left for 3 week training period in the south of France. On his way there he made a stop in Caen for the Open French Indoor.
Satuday Kevin crashed while leading in the 1/32 final, but Sunday he took revenge and made the podium in the main with a nice 3rd spot.
