In the World Challenge, Formula Europe had 3 riders :

Niels Rubens (Belgium) was a bit overwhelmed at his first ever Worlds and was eliminated in the Boys 16 motos.

Lucie Meerholz (Holland) made the Cruiser 16 & under main in which she finished 8th. Congrats with another Main !

Jordy Agues (Holland) was winning every lap on his way to the Main Event. In the Final he lost some speed while elbowrubbing with the rider next to him and was held back. While trying to catch up with the leaders Jordy crashed and finished in 8th place.

In the World Championships Category our 2 Latvian Elite Riders both qualified through their Time Trial.

In Elite Women Sandra Aleksejeva took the 34thtime in the Time Trial and our European Elite Men Champion Edzus Treimanis qualified with the 30th time on Friday.

On Saturday Sandra passed the qualifying rounds and moved on to the semis in which she was eliminated as she couldn’t avoid the rider in 4th place who crashed.

Edzus fought his way trough the motos and 1/8 and stranded in the quarter finals , being stopped by a crash in front of him. Bad luck as well . …

And now the good news :

After these Worlds,  BOTH our  Elite Riders qualify for the London Olympic Games 2012 !

As a private Trade Team, Formula Europe is very , very proud of this realization !

The complete Team was present for the European Championships that were held in Orléans (France).

Niels Rubens showed his potential with a 2nd place in moto 2, but was pushed out in the last turn of moto 3 which ended his Championship.

Team Manager Nico van Dartel crashed hard when he flipped over a rider in front of him and his championship ended early.

Lucie Meerholz was competing in the new Novice Junior Women category. After a bad gate, she stranded 1 spot away from the Main Event.

Jordy Agues was close to winning a Championships Event in the last years and this year he finally took his well deserved win. Congrats Jordy with the win in Men 25/29 against some really stiff competition.

Sandra Aleksejeva was riding with an injury from her last Euro race and didn’t make it out of the motos. Lets hope she heals up before the Worlds in 3 weeks.

And last but not least: Edžus Treimains is the overall winner of the 2012 Elite Men Championship Series. A second place on Saturday was enough to secure his title. Congratulations Edžus!

Watch out for Edžus as well the upcoming weekend @ the Papendal UCI Bmx S X , last year he took the # 5 spot at this race.
