Formula Europe’s Olympic Round Up

Friday , August 10th, London, Olympic park : final’s day! Formula Europe still in the mix with Sandra and Edzus for the semi finals.

In the Women’s Semis , Sandra had a loaded gate and knew she had to go to the bottom to get something out of it.
She raced for all she could and tried to follow the pack with some stiff cornering and great jumping, but after 3 heats she never was in a position to qualifie for the main 8.
Nevertheless, we are very proud of her ! It was a big achievement for her to get @ the Olympics and becoming #14 at the World’s Biggest Race Bmx Event ! Sandra, your name will be forever in the Big Olympic Book ! Congratz !

Men’s Semis : Edzus was very determined to go further to the main event .
In heat 1 and 2 , he got obstructed 2 times by crashes in front of him, giving him a 5 and 7 spot in the two first laps.
There could have been in much more for him. But yeah, that’s bmx racing !
Ok, heat 3 coming up ! To go trough, Edzus had to finish in front of frenchie Caleyron and his team mate Veide, but also finishing 2 places before the Colombian Jiminez. Hard job to do !
In the deciding heat, he got out of the gate very fast and goes in the first corner in second position in front of the 3 above riders. Until the last corner Jiminez was in 5th position and Edzus was virtual qualified. But in the final straight the Columbian managed to pass to the number three spot. This was the end of the Olympic adventure !

Edzus has proven again that he deserves his spot amongst the world’s best riders, finishing 9th @ the Olympics!

Don’t forget to catch up with Edzus the upcoming weeks, as he has been invited together with a select group of 32 of the World’s best riders @ the very special RED BULL R.EVOLUTION event in Berlin, Germany on august, 24th !

As for Formula Europe, we were very pleased to have had these 2 riders aboard @ the Olympics and are looking back with
positive feelings. Thank you and we try to keep up the good works !

Formula Europe’s Treimanis qualifies for final 16 @ London Olympics !

After a bad start yesterday, Edzus passes to the semi finals !

Taking the last spot after a nasty crash in the seedings at the Bmx opening day, Treimanis had to race the fatest guys on the field.

With a broken nose and bruised knee, he managed to qualify in only 3 heats .

After 2 runs , he was in position 6 with 10 points together with 4 other riders. In heat 3 , he took a blast of start and comes first out of the gate.

Being already a few meters ahead of a big carnage, he easily takes the # 2 spot.

With this # 2 , he can keep his points low and qualifies directly to the the final 16.

No need to run the last heats.
